Lori Honigman specializes in all aspects of commercial real estate and finance. She has significant experience in negotiating multiparty work outs and advising and conducting foreclosures and other collateral recovery strategies.
In her commercial finance practice, Ms Honigman represents a wide variety of commercial banks, insurance companies, private lenders, developers and investors in originating and restructuring acquisition, construction, bridge, permanent and mezzanine loans, structuring debt and equity investment vehicles, managing portfolio acquisitions and defeasance transactions and negotiating participations and intercreditor agreements.
In her commercial real estate practice, Ms. Honigman represents individuals, public companies, and institutional and hedge funds in structuring and negotiating all aspects of acquisition, development, construction, operation and disposition of real property, including raw land, industrial, retail, shopping center, residential planned development and office assets. She is able to assist with all facets of real estate ownership and development, including the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, space leases, property and asset management contracts, leasing agreements, development agreements and restrictive covenants and easements. Ms. Honigman is also able to assist clients with the establishment of residential and commercial condominium developments in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
Ms. Honigman has devoted a significant portion of her career to advising institutional lenders and developers in the hospitality industry, including real estate matters, debt and equity structuring and the negotiation of hotel management, franchise and development contracts.
Ms. Honigman is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Virginia and State of Maryland. She completed her undergraduate education at Emory University (BA with honors, 1989) and received her law degree from Boston University School of Law (Cum Laude, 1992).
